Can You Help?

a young person? a company? a trust?  - ideas for fundraising

The Nasio Trust is a Christian charity that believes in the power of prayer. For more information please ask to be added to the mailing lists for our regular newsletter ‘News from The Nasio Trust’ and also our prayer letter. (You can do this on the Contact Us page.)

In a world where the average income is under £20 (US$30) per week even a small gift can go a long way. Large or small gifts, and especially regular financial support, achieve a disproportionate amount of good in the third world. Please ask for details of tax incentives that may enhance your gift at no cost to you. Every penny goes to support the orphans – there is no deduction for UK administration expenses.

Why not support our initiatives and events ( like our sponsored walk), or start your own fund-raising project, form a local team, and stay in touch!

As a young person

You don’t have to be a billionaire or have a bank account to give to the Nasio Trust. No amount is too small to give and no age is too young to be a Nasio Trust supporter.

We encourage young people who want to be Nasio Trust supporters to do different activities. From DJ events, fashion shows and home-made-cards sales, to sponsored swims, fasting from mobile phones, and piggy-bank collections. Young supporters frequently put the fun back into fund-raising.

Of course, you don’t have to do something big to give! Young supporters  could send some of their pocket or allowance money they have saved up.

We will give young supporters information about what their money’s achieving, as well as inspiration and encouragement to live a full Christian lifestyle.

Giving to the Nasio Trust isn’t about how much we give. It’s about a lifestyle of caring for the poor. We’re proud to count children and teenagers amongst our committed supporters, who make life-changing work around the world possible.

As a company

Companies can support the Nasio Trust by one-off donations, regular giving to the general fund, or by supporting a specific project. Many companies also encourage their employees to take the initiative for fund-raising. If you have the opportunity to select a charity that your company will support, why not suggest The Nasio Trust? If you do, we’re happy to supply posters and materials for your office and information to put in your newsletter.

If you would like to receive further information on giving as a company, or to request project proposals, or if you think your organisation could be a potential commercial partner, please email info@thenasiotrust.org or call Nancy on 01865 820476.

As a trust

Grant-making trusts would be an important source of income for the Nasio Trust; this would provide us with additional income for projects that we cannot fund from our usual budget.

Like individual supporters, trusts can give in a number of different ways, to a wide variety of causes.  You can support specific Nasio Trust projects or rely on our expertise to see that the money is used where we feel it will have the greatest impact.

Giving to a specific project will enable the trustees to engage closely with a partner and its beneficiaries. Trips to meet partners and see work in action are sometimes feasible.

If you represent a grant-making trust and would be interested in giving to the Nasio Trust, or you know of a grant-making trust that we could apply to for funding please contact support@thenasiotrust.org

Some suggestions for fundraising

Foreign Currency
A lot of us holiday abroad these days and all of us bring back some currency. It’s often too little to bother changing, so we promise to take it back next time we go. Why not put that unwanted foreign currency to good use supporting the 'Nasio' children?

Plan your own events
Why not have a meal or a Barbeque, perhaps with some kind of theme. You could buy the food and charge everyone a set fee and then give any profit left over to charity. You could get together with friends and organise a cosmetics party and give your commission to The Nasio Trust.

Car Boot Sale
Why not take the chance to clear out some of the things you don’t use any more. Take them down to a car boot sale. You’ll be surprised what people will buy and you could give any profit to The Nasio Trust.

Sponsored event
Why not organise your own sponsored event such as a cycle ride or a sponsored silence or perhaps you regularly enter events such as fun runs or marathons. Whilst you are doing this you could be helping the poorest people in Africa. The Nasio Trust can supply you with a sponsor form with our charity number on so you can collect money on our behalf.

Loose Change
Loose change weighing you down, sick of a heavy purse full of coppers? Why not put them all in a pot at home and when you’ve filled the pot give the contents to The Nasio Trust we’ll even count and bag it for you.

Wedding list giving

Let your big day reflect what's important to you.

If you've recently got engaged - congratulations! You'll no doubt be looking for ways to make your big day special and individual, reflecting all that's important to you.

One way you can do this is to sign up for Wedding List Giving, which enables your guests to donate to the Nasio Trust instead of, or as well as, giving you a present.

You'll give your friends the opportunity to donate to a cause that's important to you. And, by choosing the Nasio Trust, you will enable the orphans we support to celebrate your wedding for a lifetime.

How it works:

We will send you:-

  • donation slips to include with your invitations
  • a telegram-style certificate on your big day to celebrate the total your guests have given
  • thank-you cards for those who donated

For more information call Jonathan on 01865 820476.
