The children below attended the Noah's Ark day care centre in Mumias. Because of changes to their family circumstances they have had to change schools. Family history: Moses lives with Irene Mudenyo's daughter JoAn. She is economically stable and has a very supportive family. They live in a big house within a good environment. Moses was abandoned in Irene's sugar can field by an unknown parent and was found by Irene looking weary, hungry and bitten by insects. Moses is referred to as the child founder of Noah's Ark day care centre in 2003. No family history in known. When Moses is older he wants to be a pilot.

Family history:Father died after suffering from hypertensions. Mother runs a small business. Zulfa has six sisters, including Halila Makokha Amakecho who also attends the centre,and two brothers.

Family history: Father died of lung disease, mother works as a domestic help. Shariffa has four sisters, including Rizziki Hamisi, and two brothers. Shariffa's mother requested that she attend DEB primary, rather than Township primary, as some of her siblings are already at that school. The Nasio Trust continues to support Shariffa at this school.

Family history: Rose is an orphan. She lives with her aunt who works as a domestic help. Rose has two brothers.

Matunga Primary School (Mumias)
Date of birth: 2 May 1997
Family history: Zakia lives in a well-manned homestead with her Grandmother and Grandfather. Her Grandfather is a businessman (runs a Posho Mill) and her Grandmother is a subsistent farmer therefore provision of essential physiological necessities is not a problem. However Zakia’s father died in 2002 and mother in 1999, Zakia has two other siblings who she also lives with. She came to the centre in 2005 and was and still is happy and lively. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor.

Family history: Kevin lives with his mother who works as a hairdresser. They live in a small semi-permanent rented house. No information is known about Kevin's father. Kevin came to the centre in 2005 and when he grows up he wants to be a pilot.

St Christopher's School (Nyapora)
Date of birth: 7 May 1999
Family history: Father died from a head injury in 2000, mother’s whereabouts is unknown. Asha lives with her grandparents who have a small scale farm to support the family. Rhoda has a sister, Asha Atieno, who also attends the school. Asha and Rhoda moved to St. Christopher’s school as it is closer to their grandparents’ home.
