In summer 2023, Ollie Passingham spent time volunteering with the Nasio Trust in Kenya. In our “Ollie’s Volunteering Diary” series he shares key parts of his experience. Read more below:

The Nasio Trust’s Spirulina Project is a remarkable initiative aimed at combating malnutrition and promoting food security.

The project develops nutrient-rich spirulina algae and distributes it as a supplement to vulnerable individuals, including the children at the Nasio schools, who love it!

Not only does it address malnutrition, but it also fosters economic sustainability by involving the local community in the cultivation and distribution process.
