Our 25th Anniversary Medical Centre Appeal

For 25 years, the Nasio Trust has helped families in Western Kenya break the cycle of poverty, providing education, food security, and life-saving care through our GMK Medical Centre.

To mark our 25th Anniversary, we are raising £25,000 to keep inpatient and maternity services free, at a time when recent healthcare funding changes have removed government support and left many families unable to access care. While our expanded centre will qualify for public funding in future, your support now is vital to ensure essential services remain available during this critical period.

  • £1,800 funds 30 safe deliveries each month
  • £5,460 for serious injuries each month treating 182 patients

The transition from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to SHA has introduced income-based premiums, digital registration, and phone-dependent systems that many families simply cannot access. It has also removed government funding for our Medical Centre’s services.

While our expanded medical centre, due to open in 2028, will qualify for SHA payments, the intervening years present a serious and immediate crisis.

Please get involved and help us raise essential funds in our jubilee year! Donate now via our appeal page.
