Nasio Spinathon Success
July 2015

On Wednesday 15th July business accommodation provider Jennings organised a charity fundraiser on their main site Monument Park, near Chalgrove.

Donna and her team organised the day, arranging for 32 members of the business park to cycle in pairs for 30 minutes on standing bikes. Between them the participants cycled for 8 consecutive hours, and travelled a distance of 436km – the equivalent of from Chalgrove to St Ives in Cornwall!

The day raised an impressive £337.09, which will be match-funded thanks to the generosity of one of Nasio’s donors, meaning in total the Nasio Trust will receive £674.18 from the event. The Nasio Trust is a charity on the business park that support 400 orphans in Western Kenya in an area devastated by the HIV pandemic.

‘We are so grateful to Jennings for arranging this event. Thanks to everyone who supported us on the day, particularly those who braved the bikes!’ Nancy Hunt, Nasio Founder

The money will go towards the medical centre the charity is building. Nancy Hunt, Nasio’s founder, said, ‘We are so grateful to Jennings for arranging this event. Thanks to everyone who supported us on the day, particularly those who braved the bikes!’.

The event made for a fantastic day, and a great opportunity for the businesses on the park to meet each other in a relaxed environment. The bikes were kindly donated by the business park by Sonny from SonnyGym’s, who also offered a free session at his gym to every participant. You can find out more about Monument Business Park here.

Understanding The Daily Realities of Poverty

The Nasio Trust has once again partnered with Evidence for Development (EfD), a UK based research organisation, to understand how families in Buchirinya, a village near Musanda where Nasio works, are coping with the daily realities of poverty.

Our latest survey from 2025 revisits the same households surveyed in 2024, using the Individual Household Method (IHM), a unique method that allows practitioners to gain an indepth perspective into rural livelihoods.

Kennington and Musanda: A Historic Twinning that Bridges Two Continents

On 11 October, something extraordinary happened. The village of Kennington in Oxfordshire officially twinned with Musanda in western Kenya the heart of The Nasio Trust’s community work.

This is the first ever twinning between a village in Oxfordshire and a village in Kenya, and it marks a milestone in our shared story of friendship, compassion, and collaboration.
