Nasio’s Medical Centre Nominated for an Award
April 2024

We are pleased to share that Nasio’s GMK Medical Centre was nominated for the award of Primary Care Provider of the Year at the Quality Healthcare Kenyan Awards, 2024. It was nominated from among 48,000 healthcare providers and was among the top 11 nominees. The GMK Medical Centre was also the only representative from Western Kenya.

‌The Quality Healthcare Kenyan Awards were launched in 2017 to recognise the essential role played by health facilities in increasing inclusivity and sustainability in the healthcare sector. Godfrey Ludenyo, GMK’s Head of Department and a Clinical Officer, says that the GMK team has saved countless lives and practiced medicine with the utmost professionalism to help provide healthcare access to the whole community.

‌In 2023, the GMK Medical Centre successfully delivered 458 babies, administered over 1,000 vaccines, and provided over 28,000 patients with high-quality care. Through the work of the medical centre, the Nasio Trust is also able to support beneficiaries in other programmes and provide them with free healthcare through enrolment in the National Hospital Insurance Fund scheme.

We are proud of the Medical Centre’s team and its achievements, which have now been recognised at a national scale by peers in the medical community.

Pictured below are Caroline (Nurse in Charge) & Godfrey (Clinical Officer in Charge of the project) from the medical centre who attended the awards ceremony.
