Displaced By A Flood With New Born Twins

Regular supporters may be aware of the recent flooding affecting the areas of western Kenya where Nasio operates.
One of the people affected by the flooding is Margret Mukabana. Margret gave birth to twins on the 2nd May by caesarian section at St. Mary’s Hospital. Shortly afterwards, Margaret’s home and all of her possessions had been washed away.
Her husband Idris – who had been working harvesting sand on the banks of the River, has also lost his job as a result of the flooding.
Margaret, her husband and their (now) six children were living in a repurposed room in Shibale Primary School, but thankfully have now been moved to rented accommodation nearby.
Margret, like many families in her position, is still in great need of many supplies having lost almost everything she owns. Our staff and volunteers in Kenya have done a great job to donate clothing, uniforms, and sanitary towels, however, a lack of food continues to be a major issue with crops being destroyed by the flooding.
