Celebration Lunch – The Smiles Said It All!

What better way to celebrate 15 years of the Nasio Trust than a birthday lunch – funnily enough held on the 15th September!
Over 80 guests enjoyed a buffet lunch in the riverside setting of the Cherwell Boat House in Oxford sponsored by Blandy House Practice, Ask4Support and Expert Wealth Management.
Friends were reunited, new guests were introduced to The Nasio Trust team, the orange and black colours of the Nasio were in evidence with bunting made by Brigitte Chen. The black and orange helium balloons also decorated the venue, each holding a value – £5 donation could buy a hen and £180 a cow. This proved a really popular fundraising activity as guests reached for their cash and the balloons, whole tables pledging together to buy a cow or 10 mattresses.
A raffle was held with prizes donated by local businesses in Watlington and Henley on Thames and a live auction conducted by Keith Budgen raised over £2,500 with the star prize being a 6 day volunteer experience in Musanda, Kenya, visiting the Nasio Trust projects.
Presentations were given by Ben Bage on his volunteer experience of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, Nancy Hunt talked about inspiring others following her Mother’s decision at the age of 79 to look after Moses, the 3 month old baby found under a tree. Sue Taylor talked about being a child sponsor and we had a great presentation on the building of the Medical centre from Jon Marshall.
A very happy day for a wonderful charity, the smiles said it all!
