Celebrate Our 25th Anniversary!
January 2026

We are thrilled to be celebrating a huge milestone — 2026 marks Nasio’s 25th Anniversary

Over the past 25 years, the Nasio Trust has supported thousands of families to break the cycle of poverty. Vulnerable children have been able to attend school, farmers have put food on the table, and thousands of patients have received high-quality care at our medical centre. We are incredibly proud to be at the forefront of lasting, transformative change in Western Kenya.

We would love you to help us celebrate everything we’ve achieved together by taking part in our anniversary activities and challenges:

  • Join us for a Quiz Night at the Loose Canon Brewery in Abingdon on 14 May
  • Join us at Dorchester Abbey in the summer – date TBC
  • Volunteer with us again — or even climb Kilimanjaro to relive past memories
  • Take on a “25” challenge: walk 25 miles, bake 25 treats, run 25km (or create your own!)
  • Fundraise as a group, school, or church

To mark our silver anniversary, we are aiming to raise £25,000 to provide free in-patient care, antenatal services, and safe deliveries for expectant mothers.

Primary healthcare centres like the GMK Medical Centre have recently been downgraded by the Kenyan Social Health Authority and will no longer receive government funding. As a result, we may be forced to turn away up to 10,000 patients each year.

Raising £25,000 in 2026 will help ensure that vital healthcare services remain available to the local community while we work towards building our new medical centre.

If you have any questions or ideas about our anniversary campaign, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch at info@nullthenasiotrust.org.

Understanding The Daily Realities of Poverty

The Nasio Trust has once again partnered with Evidence for Development (EfD), a UK based research organisation, to understand how families in Buchirinya, a village near Musanda where Nasio works, are coping with the daily realities of poverty.

Our latest survey from 2025 revisits the same households surveyed in 2024, using the Individual Household Method (IHM), a unique method that allows practitioners to gain an indepth perspective into rural livelihoods.

Kennington and Musanda: A Historic Twinning that Bridges Two Continents

On 11 October, something extraordinary happened. The village of Kennington in Oxfordshire officially twinned with Musanda in western Kenya the heart of The Nasio Trust’s community work.

This is the first ever twinning between a village in Oxfordshire and a village in Kenya, and it marks a milestone in our shared story of friendship, compassion, and collaboration.
