Val’s Kenyan Experience: Day 1 – Welcome To Kenya

There’s a variety of reasons people come on the Kenyan Experience with the Nasio Trust.

For some it's the idea of combining travelling across Kenya on safari with meeting and helping 'real' Kenyans. Some take part because October is the time when their kids are leaving the nest to go to college or university, and they want something positive to focus on.

Matt gears up for Kenyan fundraiser

A Shirebrook man is planning a trip to Kenya to build a hospital and donate four Land Rovers which can be used as ambulances by local medics.

The expedition has been organised through the Nasio Trust - an international charity which runs day-care centres in western Kenya providing orphaned children with a daily meal, education, medical care and support.

Richard Speaks To The Rotarians!

Hucknall Rotarians were captivated by the latest inspirational speaker that addressed their weekly meeting at the Horse and Groom Linby.

Local joiner Richard Channer told how a chance conversation with a friend who was involved in a little-known charity, The Nasio Trust, led to him going out to Western Kenya for 8 days in 2012 to help renovate an Orphanage Day Centre.

Activity Report – Mud Hut Construction

The mud hut of Mama Dancan was completed on the 15th of July 2015 with the official turnover of the key. During the turnover we have also given her new furniture, a mattress with blanket and food items which she was very pleased to have received.

The construction started 9th of July 2015 with the carpenter laying the basic structures for the hut. After 2 days, volunteers from the UK, friends from Kakamega and staff from St. Irene were able to help by gathering water for the mud mixture, putting mud in the structures and carpentry works.
