Two New Initiatives By Izzie

This summer I spent a month volunteering in Kenya with The Nasio Trust – an amazing experience that gave me the opportunity to get to know 11 Nasio families.

After many home visits, a few jigger treatments and volunteering at the Nasio medical centre, St Mary's hospital and visiting a local Government hospital, I was particularly interested in maximising access to healthcare, especially for our most vulnerable families.

Camille Talks About Shoes For Africa

Local, newly trained cobblers and sewers will take on the manufacture of shoes to be sold to the local community.

To support the enterprise, an educational campaign will inform families on the benefits of the shoes, and on the need to wear them every day.

James Landale Swims The Bosphorus

On Sunday July 22nd the incredible James Landale successfully swam the 6.5km stretch of water known as the Bosphorus. Effectively swimming between the continents of Europe and Asia!

He raised an amazing £10,000 and shared it between 3 charities - one of which was The Nasio Trust.

3 Men In A Boat Take On The Thames

Nasio trustee and director of GardPass Cyber Neil Passingham has teamed up with Felipe Dias and Emilio Perri to navigate the entire length of the River Thames.

They'll begin at the source in the Cotswolds and make their way through London and on to the sea during July, August & September whilst raising funds for The Nasio Trust.

Medical Volunteering – Florence’s Story

One of the things that had the most impact on me in Kenya was my visits to St Mary’s hospital.

On my first visit I was with the whole group and we handed out bread and milk to all the mothers and their newborn babies. We did this because if we hadn’t, no one else would have and they might have gone hungry that day, even though they had just given birth.
