Find Out MoreOn the International Day of Education 2022, we would like to draw attention to the importance of girls’ education. When girls are provided with the access to education they deserve, the world benefits- poverty drops, opportunities arise and communities strengthen.
According to Unicef, 129 million girls are out of education globally. Poverty is the largest barrier to education. Families in rural areas of Kenya, where secondary school enrolment is fewer than the already low 53% national average, often want the best for their children but lack the financial means to support their education.

Find Out MoreRajab’s sister joins medical college.
You may remember in May we featured one of Nasio's first supported children, Rajab, who is now a clinical officer working at our medical centre. I am now delighted to tell you that his younger sister, Amidah Makokha, has joined the Kenya Medical Training College, to start her certificate in Health Records Information Technology. She was inspired by her volunteer work and by her brother Rajab.

On the evening of June 17th, strong wind and rains led to the collapse of their mud house. History (aged 10) and Mary (aged 8) and their family were suddenly left with no means to shelter from the terrible weather and had to relocate to the home of their paternal grandmother.

Find Out MoreMy name is Rajab Kweyu Makokha. I’m Twenty three years old.I joined Nasio Trust organization at the age of 7 years as a partial orphan living with my mother who was doing small scale business.
After four years in high school, I was able to successfully complete my Secondary education and joined Kenya Medical Training College to pursue Clinical medicine and Surgery course.

Find Out MoreMeet Josephine Mukoya Kweyu, one of the Nasio Trust’s Guardians and Beneficiaries.
Josephine, a widow and mother of 7 girls, was born in Bumini village in 1968. She was the firstborn in a family of 7 (2 boys and 5 girls). She attended Bumini primary school where she sat for her CPE in 1983, and later joined Shikoti Girls Secondary school, then Amukura Girls where she did her secondary school national exams.
