"The Nasio Trust has transformed children from nothing to something. Those who were shelter-less now have shelter, those who were not going to school are now going to school."Farida (Social worker)
This year, The Egmont Trust marked a momentous milestone: 20 years of transformative work alongside grassroots organisations across sub-Saharan Africa. On 14 May, we gathered in London for our Annual Awards Ceremony, honouring the dedication, innovation and resilience of our remarkable partners.
The Annual Egmont Trust Awards celebrate the very best among these change-makers and we're very excited to report that The Nasio Trust won Best Performing Organisation!
Rajab Kweyu (Clinical Officer, Nasio Trust) and Eunice Juma (Social Worker, Nasio Trust) visited us in the UK in May 2025 and gave an amazing talk at Reading University on Global Development and Impact of Aid Cuts on Rural Kenya.
We thank the Walker Institute and University of Reading for the opportunity to address their community.
Kenya is making a bold and positive move – transitioning from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF). This shift will give millions of families access to more comprehensive, affordable healthcare than ever before.
We’re fully behind this change. SHIF reflects everything we believe in: preventative, accessible, community-focused healthcare. Our medical teams are working hard to ensure every child and guardian we support stays covered as this new system rolls out. But we need your help to make it happen.
