Help Us To Build a Nasio Library For All

In partnership with Kennington Community, we’re planning to build the very first Nasio community library!

Nasio as a charity provides support through education to children from the age of three but without a library, children have no access to books they can read for pleasure to help stretch their imagination and inspire them!

With the help of our patron Korky Paul (African-born childrens’ book illustrator) and generous help from our corporate sponsors Claret Press and Essential Audiobooks (who have agreed to fund the initial running costs) we’re fundraising to bring the very first community library to Mumia West in Kenya.

We’re raising £26,000 to make this dream a reality!

We’ve raised £16,000 so far and need your help to raise a further £10,000 to furnish the library.

  • £10 will buy a symbolic brick to construct the library.
  • Or why not arrange a simple event like a coffee morning & donate £50?

Not only will your donation help to bring the gift of reading to countless children, but your name will be recorded on a commemorative plaque at the library building too.

Jiggers: A Preventable Crisis with Life-Changing Consequences

Jiggers are initially thought to come from Central and South America, the jigger parasite found its way to Africa, likely through human migration. Once it burrows into the skin – most commonly in the feet – it causes severe inflammation, ulceration, and unbearable itching.

Left untreated, the infection can escalate to tetanus, gangrene, or even the loss of limbs.
