In 1979 there was a revolution in Nicaragua. I pitched up there in 1984, young and dumb, wide-eyed and curious.

In the intervening years, the new government had created a literacy campaign with the literate teaching basic literacy to others. The Literacy Campaign was so successful that UNESCO awarded Nicaragua with a prize.

Nasio’s Bike Project

Nasio’s Bike Project, which is funded by the Sefton family, has provided engaging life skills activities for our young people.

The Nasio Bike Hub was set up in the renovated original Noah’s Ark building. It offers a great way for young people to learn and develop new skills, as well as providing a safe place for them to meet.

Conor & Bryn Complete 31 Half-Marathons in 31 Days

Conor and Bryn have completed a truly incredible undertaking.

At the start of May they both set out to complete an incredible 31 half-marathons. That's one every singe day throughout the month. They also set the ambitious goal of completing every one in under 2 hours.

Faye’s Story – 5 Trips & Counting!

It all started January 2013 when I bounced through the doors of my house (aged 15), turned to my Mum and said “I’m going to Kenya”. She looked at me and said “oh really”, I don’t think she quite knew how serious I was being, but I knew that year in October I would be boarding the plane.

Little did I know how much of a difference it would have made the next 7 years of my life. My friend had gone the previous year, she asked me if I would like to go and I knew straight away I had to.

Tabitha & Jacob’s Story: A Trip Cut Short By COVID-19

Tabitha & Jacob have been on a Medical Volunteering trip with us, working at our medical centre.

They've been a joy to work with and have been involved in a wide range of activities; from helping with the birth of babies, to researching the Malaria vaccine that is offered for free to children in Kenya.
